I’m sorry I’ve been absent for some time, life just took off on me!
The great news is that I’m living the dream–I finally figured out how to get paid to read! I’m now an Editor with Sunbury Press, a medium sized trad publisher in PA. They have a wonderful team, supportive and welcoming. They also have great plans as they go forward. They’ve been in business since 2004. Sorry, hopefuls, I have nothing to do with acquisitions, and can’t “put in a good word!”
On other notes, I’ve been busy going to conferences, conventions and events, I’ve been out of town every month of 2004 so far (except February when my husband had a partial knee replacement–that was a little busy!) Thanks to my daughter, who lives in Pittsburgh, I’ve been able to keep expenses down. (And also to a WCoNA colleague who generously sprang for our accommodations at the March WCoNA Conference!)
I’m still doing freelance editing, but my schedule is quite crowded. I may have room for more projects by spring 2024. OTOH, short pieces, short stories, etc., can be squeezed in if you need an editorial eye.
My own writing has been suffering a bit, but thanks to my new Pennwriters membership, I’ve been making great contacts, getting some feedback, learning so very much! For a nominal fee, you, too, could be part of their group (if you are from our great state of PA–there are natives who are expats who still belong!) It’s been invaluable to so many.
Well, I’ve got to get to work, but I hope your days are bright and fun! Keep writing!
