Frustration makes grief worse

After a death, there is a LOT of paperwork to contend with, and it takes months and possibly years to settle an estate. I expected that.

I had not expected so many roadblocks to be thrown up in our way. For instance, the medical bills which are outstanding cannot be handled—the account is “locked” as the patient is deceased. There’s a big mess—as usual, nothing was handled properly and a lot of work will have to be done to straighten it out.

However, now there is NO ACCESS to any of that information.

Send emails, call and leave voicemails, and remember that this isn’t really important to THE PEOPLE WHO ARE BEING PAID TO GET IT RIGHT.

It’s only important to those who are trying to settle things, who get a pain every time they see the name, or any little detail, really. To those who have to stop and cry for a few minutes—or many—before they can clear their throat and leave ONE. MORE. VOICEMAIL.

Frustration—possibly my least favorite emotion.
