Clearing skies

I feel like the skies are clearing a bit. Of course, I still grieve, I have times when it’s painful and I’m down. That won’t stop—I’ve lost those dear to me before, and I know how it goes.

But the frantic busyness and worry of the past year(s) has lightened. My mother is doing well, she’s very organized and handling the paperwork and details of her widowhood well. For now, my son is doing well, although there are always worries and paperwork and appointments to do.

On a side note—I was advised yesterday (again) to have mneumonic passwords which are different for every site. I looked at my pages of passwords and usernames and laughed heartily for a long time. I have been keeping track of medical information over 4-5 different medical providers (choices in rural areas are small and you take who you can get!) and doing so for SEVERAL members of my family. So I have (quite literally) a 4 page table of usernames, passwords, and secret questions and answers. God will have to take care of security, I do my best.

My calendar is also color-coded (when I remember to do so) with appointments and meetings for all the personal stuff plus 3 jobs.

My to-do list would make one weep (but I only keep the most imminent stuff where I can see it.)

All that said, life seems to be (deep breath!) becoming more manageable! My focus is going to be turning less to the personal, and more to writing and work—including many, many, overdue book reviews. And a lot of reading FOR FUN!

No, that’s not my bookshelf. Mine is much messier and MUCH larger. So watch this space for an eclectic group of books I will recommend (and one I will not!) Hopefully, they will be organized by genre, at least generally, so if you ONLY read one kind of thing (LitRPGers, looking at you?) you can potentially find good reads here.

I will also talk about my own writing and perhaps share a bit.

And recipes! and reports on conferences, conventions and events I’ve gone to or spoken at.

My skies are clearing (God willing and the cricks don’t rise) and I’m excited about the potential. May your days be full of whatever sunshine or shade you need at this point.

Thanks. Yes, it helps to walk through these things together. Hang on, and we’ll go through.
